Molly was born and raised in Pennsylvania. Molly began her professional career when she was thirteen, at the Philadelphia's Prince Music Theater. The following year she was cast as Little Red Ridinghood in the Arden Theater s production of Into the Woods for which she was nominated for a Barrymore Award. The actress reprised her role as Little Red Ridinghood when she made her Broadway debut at 15 in Into the Woods on Broadway in 2002 and was nominated for the Drama League Award. Molly performed on Broadway during the 2004 revival of Fiddler on the Roof. She graduated in 2008 and earned her B.A. from Princeton University. in Religious Studies. Also, she appeared in Disney's College Road Trip, playing Wendy Greenhut. After graduating Molly performed in several Off-Broadway productions, including End Days at Ensemble Studio Theater and in some productions on television, such as Royal Pains and an HBO Pilot The Wonderful Maladys. Molly has been in several regional plays including The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and the Barrington Stage Company, North Shore Music Theatre and Westport Country Playhouse's 2010 performance of The Diary of Anne Frank. She was Anne. Molly's best-known performance is on the set of Paranormal Activity 2 (2010), in which she portrays Ali the 17-year-old daughter. Also, she was a part of Last Man Standing (an ABC comedy written and starring Tim Allen) and Jack Burditt's 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee in 2008.
